Nicholas Kelly,17, of Lubbock was indicted Tuesday for four felony counts of possession of child pornography after videos of a 6-year-old girl showering were found on Kelly’s cellphone.
On June 30, seven videos of the child were discovered when a man saw his son playing with Kelly’s phone, according to an arrest warrant.
A video of the man’s daughter nude in the shower was playing on the phone, and according to the warrant, at least one video showed Kelly’s face. A forensic examination showed the person filming attempted to focus on the child’s genital area.
The girl’s father contacted Kelly via Facebook, and he reportedly apologized and asked the man not to tell anyone.
Lubbock police officers confronted Kelly at his work, and he initially denied knowing about or creating the videos, according to the warrant. Kelly admitted to recording after he was told his face was visible in the video.
Kelly denied sexually touching a child or creating other videos, according to the warrant.
Kelly was arrested on Wednesday and was able to post bond to get out of jail while his case is pending.
