A Houston law firm analyzed crime statistics and declared Lubbock to be tied with Killeen as the 7th most dangerous city in Texas.
The Darrow Law Firm posted information on Saturday indicating that Lubbock had 861.78 violent crimes per 100,000 people.
The law firm’s blog post said, “The Darrow Law Firm aimed to find the safest and most dangerous cities in Texas (with populations over 100,000) by looking at three key factors: Crime, Police Presence, [and] Community Socioeconomic factors.”
It also said, “Crime data was sourced from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting program and reflect data for 2014.”
The law firm said Lubbock had 4.96 homicides per 100,000 people. It also said Lubbock had 52.93 rapes, 137.70 robberies, and 666.18 aggravated assaults per 100,000 people.
The law firm also said the overall most dangerous city in Texas was Odessa. Round Rock was the best on the list.
