Lubbock to be in National Spotlight

C-SPAN in partnership with Altice USA reveals Lubbock history and highlights authors during weeklong visit

 The Honorable Mayor Dan Pope and Altice USA (NYSE: ATUS), one of the largest broadband communications and video services providers in the U.S. and provider of Suddenlink-branded products and services in the Lubbock metro area, will welcome C-SPAN to Lubbock on Monday, May 7, at 3 p.m. at the American Windmill Museum as they kick off a visit to record the history and non-fiction literary life of the town on the cable network’s non-fiction book channel Book TV (on C-SPAN2) and history channel American History TV (on C-SPAN3).

“Lubbock has a rich history, heritage, and culture,” Mayor Dan Pope said. “I am excited that C-SPAN has chosen to showcase our city, and I look forward to sharing our unique and diverse community with a national audience.”

In partnership with Altice USA, C-SPAN producers will reveal the stories and segments that will be explored by the national network.  During their time in Lubbock, C-SPAN producers will visit various literary and historic sites, interview local historians, non-fiction authors and conduct educational and community outreach in the area. 

Local segments recorded during the week of May 6-9 will air on Book TV (on C-SPAN2) and on American History TV (on C-SPAN3) throughout C-SPAN’s special Lubbock weekend, July 7-8. Altice USA’s Suddenlink customers in the Lubbock area can access C-SPAN2 on Suddenlink channel 27 and C-SPAN3 on Suddenlink channel 329.
