Lexi Isaacks of Lubbock went on trial Tuesday for the December 2014 death of Alex Flores, 48. Isaaks was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
Lubbock Police said at the time that Flores’ car was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Marsha Sharp Freeway and Upland Avenue.
The summary said the SUV driven by Isaacks “failed to stop” for the light. Isaacks, now 23, was 20-years-old at the time.
During the first day of trial, Isaacks’ defense attorney argued that she had no slurred speech, no blurry vision and no signs of intoxication.
A police officer testified that she failed multiple items in a field sobriety test. The officer also testified that she admitted having two shots and a beer before driving.
Testimony continued Tuesday afternoon. Isaacks was free on bond.
