LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) – The following is a news release from MADD in Lubbock:

Please join us for the inaugural MADD Memorial Walk in honor of victims of impaired driving.

Lubbock County Courthouse, 904 Broadway St.

This event is free and open to the public. Setup will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a ceremony at 10 a.m. with the walk kicking off at about 11 a.m. We invite you to participate to highlight the statistics, threats and effects of impaired driving. This pet-friendly, non-competitive walk is considered a social and healing event for friends and families, there is no set end time.

For the memorial walk, friends and family members of impaired-driving victims are encouraged to wear a red shirt with their loved one’s name or photo.

The event will also include free food, music and goodies as a number of vendors and area agencies and organizations will participate in our resource fair.

MADD’s Mission Statement: The mission of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking.
