Martin Tijerina, 34, of Lubbock pleaded guilty Monday in State District Court to aggravated assault. He’ll have to serve a 10-year prison sentence.
In August of 2015 Lubbock Police were called to the 1700 block of East 29th Street for a disturbance. An indictment said he used a gun to threaten violence against four people.
Tijerina had already been convicted of a felony – specifically, home burglary. That made him a felon in possession of a firearm. He was indicted on multiple counts but pleaded guilty only to the first charge on his indictment.
His previous arrests dating back to 2001 were for a long list of things like assault, aggravated assault, illegal discharge of a firearm, marijuana possession, driving without a license, resisting arrest, false I.D., and theft.
