Zacarias Blanco-Olea, 45, accepted a plea deal Monday morning in federal court in Lubbock.  He admits to possession of 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.  Specifically, Blanco-Olea was found with 1,984.3 grams of meth in a July 5 traffic stop.

In March federal agents were investigating a Lubbock man, Alejandro Garcia-Izazaga, for running a “large-scale methamphetamine trafficking organization” in Lubbock.

A criminal case was still pending against Garcia-Izazaga on Monday.

In July, agents already knew that Garcia-Izazaga made arrangements for Blanco-Olea to take a load of meth from Dallas to Lubbock.  A DPS Trooper pulled over Blanco-Olea for a traffic stop between Dallas and Lubbock.

The officers found meth in the bed of a truck that Blanco-Olea was driving.

If a judge approves the plea agreement then Blanco-Olea will be sentenced at a later date to no less than 10 years in prison and no more than life.
