SLATON, Texas — Slaton Police, with help from the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, arrested Antonio Garcia, 39.
Slaton Police Chief Trevor Barnes said at about 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, Garcia entered a residence in the 800 block of South 8th Street in violation of a protective order. He was asked to leave but he stayed in a shed on the property.
Police were called, and Barnes said Garcia assaulted two officers. He also refused to come out of the shed. Slaton Police then called LCSO for help with a SWAT team.
Barnes said Garcia agreed to come out at about 8:45. He was arrested for assault on a public servant, resisting arrest, burglary and violating a protective order.
Barnes said Garcia was first checked out at a local hospital and then taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center.
