A Lamesa man was killed in a two vehicle crash in Dawson County Monday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident occurred on State Highway 137, approximately 5 miles south of Lamesa, around 9:45 p.m.
Authorities said the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu was attempting to pass a Ford F-150 pickup in a no passing zone while oncoming traffic was approaching.
The driver of the Malibu attempted to return to the northbound lane and struck the F-150 in the rear.
The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The DPS identifed the victim as Rolando Galvan, 23, of Lamesa.
The driver of the Malibu was identified as Joeangel Lopez, 31, of Lubbock. Lopez was not injuried.
