A grand jury on Tuesday indicted Saul Lozano, 37, for aggravated sexual assault of a child.  Court documents accuse Lozano of sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl.

A police report said officers were called to the 500 block of Avenue D on July 4 for the report of a domestic disturbance.

The police report said a woman was “punched, dragged, pushed, and threatened by [Lozano].”

According to the police report, the victim said, “she observed [Lozano] cut a power cord off of one of the televisions in the bedroom and he stated he was going to tie her and the children up and beat them.”

Lozano was arrested at that time for assault and injury to a child. But as police began asking questions, that’s when officers learned of the sexual assault allegations.

On Tuesday, Lozano’s charges included aggravated sexual assault of a child and his bond was more than $100,000.  If convicted, he faces up to 99 years or life in prison.
