Lubbock Police arrested Dustin Elshick, 24, of Lubbock early Monday morning. Elshick was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence.
Police were called to the emergency room at University Medical Center. Officers found a man had been shot twice in the face with a BB gun.
Police were told that Elshick, who lives with his mother, was among a few people drinking alcohol in the 2800 block of North Quaker. Police were told there was an argument. A police report said 20 to 30 minutes later, Elshick got upset again.
A police report said he then shot his mother’s boyfriend in the face twice with a BB gun. The victim was able to get away and drive himself to the hospital. The police report said after the victim left, Elshick then spit directly in his mother’s face.
Police arrested Elshick and he remained in the Lubbock County Detention Center Monday evening on bonds totaling more than $27,000.
