The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is scheduled to close the Marsha Sharp Freeway (MSF) mainlanes, at the Loop 193 in Wolfforth, to traffic beginning tomorrow, June 15. The closures will allow contractor Allen Butler to place the final road surface for Phase 5C of the MSF, said Mike Wittie, P.E., Lubbock Area engineer.
“Weather permitting, construction crews will close both the east- and westbound US 62/82 mainlanes along the MSF Phase 5C project limits. The lanes will be closed through June 20. Traffic will be detoured onto the frontage road,” Wittie said.
Drivers are urged to pay attention to all signs, barricades and traffic control devices, and to reduce their speed as they approach work zones for their safety and the safety of the workers.
Work on the $14.5 million project to rebuild the Loop 193 interchange began in October 2015 and is the final segment of the Marsha Sharp Freeway (MSF) corridor.
