The following is a news release from the City of Lubbock:
Beginning Thursday June 28, West Texas Paving under contract with the City of Lubbock will begin maintenance work on Milwaukee Avenue and Erskine Street. The first phase of work will take place on Milwaukee Avenue, between Erskine Street and Marshall Street. Milwaukee will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project. Detours will be made available for neighborhoods and thru traffic for the duration of work.
This phase of work will take approximately two to three weeks to complete depending upon weather and construction. Drivers are urged to seek an alternate route, expect delays and allow extra time for detours.
