Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety will be enforcing the Move Over/Slow Down law in the Crosbyton area on Wednesday, April 18 and Thursday, April 19.
Motorist are reminded to move over and slow down when they see any emergency vehicles, tow trucks or TxDOT vehicles stopped on the shoulder of the roadway with their emergency lights activated.
Drivers can be fined from $1.00 to $200.00 for not moving over and slowing down. You can be fined up the $500.00 if property is damaged. If someone is injured, you can be arrested.
DPS is encouraging everyone to drive defensively and not have someone injured or killed as a result of not moving over or slowing down.
