LUBBOCK, Texas — Emergency crews were called to Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport prior to 9:45 Wednesday morning. A plane reported trouble with its landing gear.
The plane landed without incident at about 9:50.
On Wednesday afternoon, LFR provided an update, saying, “A small aircraft had a light on in the cockpit signaling that the landing gear was not down.”
LFR also said, “The plane did a flyby and the gear was noted to be down and the plane landed without incident.”
In the meantime, information from FlightAware showed a few flights were diverted Wednesday from the Dallas Fort Worth area to Lubbock due to severe weather.
The city of Lubbock, late Wedensday morning, released the following statement:
This morning, four American Airlines planes landed at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport this morning (to refuel) as a diversion due to weather conditions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As of 11:10 a.m., three of the planes were still at LPSIA. One aircraft was deplaned, per the pilot’s choice, for the comfort of the passengers.
