The Lubbock Police Department said five vehicles were involved in a crash late Monday afternoon on 19th Street near Milwaukee Avenue.
A semi-trailer and an SUV were involved in the initial wreck, police said. Three additional vehicles then became involved.
At least one person was seriously injured, police said. Another person was reported to have moderate injuries, and a third person had minor injuries.
Police could not immediately specify which lanes were blocked, but they said traffic in the area was affected.
