The City of Lubbock Water education team is pleased to announce a partnership with the Lubbock Science Spectrum & Omni Theater for the Nature’s Core Expo on Thursday, March 14, 2019. The event is a platform to educate children and adults about the environment and becoming good stewards of the earth.
This first annual expo is the perfect place for families to learn, explore and play together. The event will consist of nineteen stations with crafts, activities, competitions, story times, and a photo booth centered on environmental health. “We want the kids to be able to get their hands involved, literally, and get them connected with the environment in a positive manner”, said Raquel Mullen, Customer Relations Manager of Water Utilities. “It will be a fun day out for the families. There will be lots of great information and great activities for the kids”. Fifteen exhibitors will be on hand for the expo. The Nature’s Core event is free to the public; standard rates apply for Science Spectrum museum and theater.

The City of Lubbock Water Department develops, protects and preserves valuable water resources while providing high quality water and customer service. The department manages the city’s water supply, raw water transmission system, two surface water treatment plants, the water distribution system, wastewater collection system, two wastewater treatment plants, and wastewater reuse and disposal facilities. We are proactive in educating the public about ways we can conserve our water supplies.
