A Lubbock woman continued to recover Monday at Covenant Medical Center after being shot outside a residence Sunday morning.
The incident occurred in the 1900 block of 42nd Street around 5:20 a.m.
According to Lubbock Police, a male suspect pulled up to the residence in a car. The victim and the suspect got into an altercation and shots were fired.
The victim was struck and the suspect fled the scene.
The victim, identified as Azalia Garcia, 25, was taken to Covenant Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Lubbock Police said Garcia was in stable condition Monday morning and was expected to survive.
The suspect has been identified and was arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant.
Authorities said charges are pending against him for aggravated assault.
The suspect’s name has not been released at this time.
