On Friday, EverythingLubbock.com confirmed three major projects in Lubbock.

Rosa’s Tortilla Factory requested a building permit for a new location at 130th Street and Indiana Avenue.  The estimated value of the project was $950,000.  A sign at that location said, “coming soon.”  When contacted by phone, Rosa’s Corporate office declined an opportunity to comment.

Braum’s and Sonic both have plans for new locations close by at 128th and Indiana, according to an internet posting by Westar Realty.

City of Lubbock public records said a building permit was requested for a “new Best Buy store” in the 2400 block of West Loop 289.  That location is in the West End North development.  The estimated value was listed at $4 million, and the contractor was listed as Lee Lewis Construction.

EverythingLubbock.com left a phone message with Best Buy’s corporate office for more information.  A representative for the contractor said once construction actually begins, a project of that size will normally take 9 to 12 months.

The current location of Best Buy, 5916 West Loop 289, is not far from the new one.

Finally, the Facebook page for Thirsty Dilla said a new location is coming soon to 6301 82nd Street.

“Thirsty Dilla is coming soon to Lubbock offering gourmet quesadillas,” the page said, “serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.”
