LUBBOCK, Texas – Another round of wintry precipitation will develop and move across the South and Rolling Plains Tuesday evening, Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.

The precipitation is expected to be mostly snow for areas on the Caprock, although there come be some brief sleet and freezing rain as well.

A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected for areas across the Rolling Plains.

Roadways will become icy once again after sunset, They will stay that way throughout the night and into Wednesday morning.

An additional 2 to 3 inches of snow will possible across the northwestern and western South Plains.

The central and eastern South Plains, including the Lubbock metro area, can expect 1 to 2 inches of snowfall.

Several winter weather related warnings and advisories remain in place through Wednesday morning.

Some areas of the northern and northwestern South Plains already picked up 1 to 3 inches of snow.
