On Tuesday, the Plainview fire marshal released the name of the man who died in a house fire Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called to the 1300 block of Milwaukee Street for a house that was “fully involved” with fire.
“It was reported that at least one person was inside the residence,” an official statement said. As part of the update on Tuesday, officials said Kenneth Brooks Jr., 28, was found in the residence and pronounced dead at the scene by the Hale County Precinct 1 Judge.
“The preliminary investigation by the Plainview Fire Marshal’s Office has determined the fire to be accidental,” an official statement said. “An electric oven has been identified as the cause of the fire.”
