A fugitive wanted for rape and kidnapping charges was arrested Thursday afternoon in a Central Lubbock home.
David Ramos Contreras, 28, was wanted in Bowling Green, Ohio, for two counts of kidnapping and two counts of rape. Police said he was found hiding under a bed in a 21st Street home near Avenue P.
Contreras and two other men were accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting two girls, ages 13 and 14, according to police. The girls reported the incident on June 28.
Investigators with the U.S. Marshals Service, including Lubbock Police Department and DPS task force officers, arrested Contreras in a home in the 1600 block of 21st Street.
Arnulfo Ramos and Juan Garcia Rios Adiel were also charged in the case on July 2. Their whereabouts are unknown. Ramos previously lived in Texas and Adiel lived in Florida, according to the Bowling Green Police Department.
Contreras will be extradited to Ohio to face the charges. He is currently held in the Lubbock County Detention Center.

On July 5, 2018 the U.S. Marshals Service in Lubbock, Texas arrested David Ramos Contreras (28). Contreras was wanted by the Bowling Green, Ohio Police for two counts of rape and two counts of kidnapping after two underage girls reported the incident to Bowling Green Police on June 28, 2018. Bowling Green Police also charged Arnulfo Ramos (age unknown) and Juan Garcia Rios Adiel (19) with rape and kidnapping on July 2, 2018 in connection with the same incident. Information was developed placing Contreras in Lubbock, Texas after investigators for the U.S. Marshals Service and Bowling Green Police followed leads and tips developed over the last two days. Contreras was found hiding under a bed at an address in the 1600 block of 21st street in Lubbock. Contreras will be extradited back to Ohio to face the charges.
U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio Pete Elliott stated, “The diligent and dedicated work of our fugitive task force, along with the U.S. Marshals in Lubbock, and our local partners enabled this arrest to happen quickly and safely. We know the hard work will continue until the other two suspects are apprehended. Our thoughts are with the victims of these heinous crimes.”
The current whereabouts of Arnulfo Ramos and Juan Garcia Rios Adiel are still unknown. The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and Bowling Green Police are seeking assistance from the public in locating these two suspects. Ramos previously lived in Texas while Adiel lived in Florida.

A wanted fugitive out of Ohio has been captured in Lubbock.
On July 5th, at approximately 4:15 p.m., investigators with the U.S. Marshals Service including Lubbock Police Department and DPS task force officers, arrested 28-year-old David Ramos Contreras in a home near 21st Street and Avenue P.
Contreras was wanted out of Ohio by the Bowling Green Police Department for two counts of kidnapping and two counts of rape in connection to a case involving juveniles.
Contreras is being booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center and will be extradited to Ohio at a later date.
