One person was transported to the hospital with injuries following a house fire Monday morning in Northeast Lubbock. 

The fire was reported in the 2900 block of East Colgate just after 8:30 a.m.

Lubbock Fire Rescue was able to quickly extinguish the fire. 

There were three occupants in the house.

One of the occupants was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of minor burns and smoke inhalation, LFR said. 

The Lubbock Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene to investigate. 

The investigation found the fire was started by someone smoking in bed while using oxygen.

The fire was ruled as accidental.
