Lubbock Police are investigating a shooting that happened Wednesday evening at a Sonic Drive-In near 34th and Salem.
One person was found seriously injured at a nearby apartment complex and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. On Thursday morning, LPD told EverythingLubbock.com the victim was in stable condition.
Also, on Thursday morning, Lubbock Police issued the following statement:
Just before 10:30 p.m. on November 5th, Lubbock Police officers were called to the 3200 block of Salisbury Avenue in reference to a gunshot victim.
Responding officers located a 21-year-old male with a gunshot wound. He was taken by EMS to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Through the initial investigation, it was discovered the shooting occurred at the Sonic Drive-In located nearby at 4611 34th Street. Officers were advised the victim was leaving Sonic in a pick-truck when a male suspect walked toward him and began firing a gun multiple times in his direction. The victim began driving away and was struck once.
At this time, the shooting appears to be targeted and not random. The suspect has not been located at this time.
This case remains under investigation.
