LUBBOCK, Texas — One person was seriously injured in an industrial accident Tuesday at North Ash Avenue, just north of the Lubbock city limits, according to the Lubbock Police Department.

According to LPD, the call came out just after 1:00 p.m. One person was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, but was in stable condition when LPD released a summary.

LPD said a person was working on the installation of an irrigation system, when the front of a trailer delivering dirt to the location collided with an overhead electrical wire. The wire broke and fell on the person installing the irrigation system, shocking him.

Officers were dispatched to the N. Ash and E. Insurance in reference to an accident with injuries. Officers arrived on scene and determined the incident was an industrial accident. An individual was working on the installation of an irrigation system for this location. A semi-truck was delivering dirt to the location. The semi-truck was stationary and dumping the dirt when the front of the trailer collided into an overhead electrical wire. The wire broke and fell on the individual, shocking him.

The individual was transported to UMC and was stable at the time of this summary.
