Overnight work to remove roadway striping along the west Loop 289 mainlanes is scheduled for the night of Monday, May 7, and into Tuesday, May 8, morning. The operation will require lane and ramp closures on both the north and southbound lanes between Slide Road and 34th Street.
Crews will begin the operation at 10 p.m. Monday night. Work is anticipated to be completed early Tuesday morning (by 4 a.m.). Motorists should expect delays and are asked to slow down and drive with caution through the work zone for their safety and the safety of the workers.
Operations to restripe the mainlanes will also take place next week, but specific dates have not been confirmed. The restriping work will also take place overnight.
The work is part of a district-wide $3.4 million project that is restriping various roadways across Lubbock and the surrounding 16 counties.
