The Plainview Area Endowment announced $22,250 in grants on Thursday.

The recipients of the 2017 grants are: College Hill Elementary; Compassionate Care Pregnancy Center; Hale County Literacy Council; Hale County Senior Citizens Association; Paws Pet Adoption of Plainview; YMCA Plainview and Covenant Health Plainview. 

The following is the full statement from the Plainview Area Endowment: 

The Plainview Area Endowment, an affiliate of Community Foundation of West Texas, was created in 2010 to give the people of Plainview and surrounding counties the opportunity to build a pool of permanent resources exclusively for the benefit of their communities.
 
Today the endowment has over $876,000 and supports funds for 10 designated organizations. To date, the endowment has given 32 grants totaling $61,898 to area non-profits. Each year, as the endowment grows, the group is able to give back even more to the community.  This year alone the Plainview Area Endowment will add to those numbers as they will give $22,250 in grants supporting worthy organizations and causes in the area.
