It’s NBA All-Star time! Show off your basketball skills in competitions just like the pros at Rodgers Gym on Saturday, February 16, 2019, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Admission is free and the event is hosted by Maxey Community Center and Trejo Supercenter. Games are open to all ages with competitions available for Ages 8-10, 11-14 and 15-18.
Competitions will include a 3-Point Shootout, Dunk Contest, and an Ultimate Skills Course. Everyone will get the chance to put on a show from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a recorded score. Top 5 scores in each competition per age group will then compete in a Final Showdown starting at 4:10 p.m. Winners of the individual contests will receive a prize basketball. The overall winner for the age group will receive a $30 GameStop gift card.
Rodgers Gym is located at 3306 Auburn.
Maggie Trejo Supercenter is located at 3200 Amherst Street. The center is open Monday – Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Fridays from 8:30 a.m-5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. For more information, call the center at 767-2705.
Maxey Community Center is located at 4020 30th Street. The Center is open Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – Noon and 1:00 – 8:00 p.m., Fridays 8:30 a.m. – Noon and 1:00 – 5:30 p.m., as well as on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. For more information, call the center at (806) 767-3796.
