Parrish defeats Boren in runoff for Lubbock Co. Judge

On Tuesday evening, Curtis Parrish defeated Gary Boren in the GOP primary runoff for Lubbock County Judge.

The final unofficial result was 5,563 (54.24%) for Parrish and 4,693 (45.76%) for Boren.

The results of early voting were 3,659 (52.46%) for Parrish compared to 3,316 (47.54%) for Boren.

Boren and Parrish had been in a three-way race with Karen Gibson in the March 6 Republican Primary.  Because no single candidate won a majority of votes in the primary, a runoff was scheduled.

Local Democrats are not fielding a candidate for Lubbock County Judge in the November general election.  For all practical purposes Parrish won the seat and will replace outgoing judge Tom Head.
