The Plainview Police Department reported Wednesday afternoon a teenager has been arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat.
Earlier in the day, police said they had received information that was circulating on social media of a possible shooting at Plainview High School.
Extra precautions were taken after school officials and law enforcement were made aware of the threat.
The suspect was only identified as a 14-year-old white male.
Plainview Police said the teenager will be charged with making a terroristic threat, a third degree felony.
Police said the threat was found to be a hoax.
