Lubbock Police were called to the McDonald’s restaurant on 102 N. University Avenue around 12:45 a.m. Monday. Officers found a victim who appeared to have been stabbed.
Police said it started with an assault at the Acacia Mobile Home Park at 2317 Auburn Street, when a victim was stabbed multiple times. Police initially said they are not sure what sort of weapon was used.
A police report later indicated that officers found a broken beer bottle.
According to police, the victim ran away from the mobile home park after the stabbing and made it to the McDonald’s. A police report said the victim approached the drive-through and asked employees for help.
“You can’t really trust people you know, said Samantha Casias, a neighbor. “Now we have to keep an eye on each other, and having the cops called really doesn’t surprise me.”
Over time, neighbors say that there has been an increase in crime, but one neighbor said that this is her home, and nothing will scare her off.
“I’m not scared,” said Rhonda Milne, a neighbor. “If one neighbor hollers, we all come running, we all help each other out.”
When authorities arrived, the victim was transported to UMC with life-threatening injuries. Police said they have interviewed two suspects.

LPD Investigating Early Morning Stabbing
(LUBBOCK, TX) – Detectives with the Lubbock Police Department Persons Crimes Unit are investigating an early morning stabbing that sent one man to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
On Monday, at approximately 12:45 a.m., the Lubbock Police Department responded to the McDonald’s at 102 North University Avenue for reports of an injured male outside the business.
Officers were advised employees called police when the 25-year-old male walked up to the drive-thru and asked for help. It appeared the male had stab wounds and was taken by ambulance to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
Detectives arrived on scene to begin investigating and were able to determine the original crime scene was located in the 2300 block of Auburn Street.
At this time, no arrests have been made in this case. It remains under investigation by the LPD Persons Crimes Unit.
