Accident Investigators with the Lubbock Police Department are investigating an early morning fatal accident near North Loop 289 and Clovis Highway.
At approximately 2:45 Saturday morning, officers responded to the 3600 block of the north Loop 289 eastbound access road for a single vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers found the sole occupant of a pickup truck with life threatening injuries. The driver was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
Accident investigators were called to the scene to begin an investigation. Initial information indicates the pickup truck was traveling east on the eastbound access road of north Loop 289. It appears the driver lost control as he traveled around a curve. The pickup truck left the roadway and flipped multiple times. People nearby ran to assist the driver and call for help.
The victim was identified as 21-year-old Danny Licerio.
