Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday evening in Central Lubbock.

The incident was reported just before 9:00 p.m. in the area of 34th Street and Joliet Avenue.
The Lubbock Police Department told EverythingLubbock.com officers responded to the scene following calls of shorts fired in the area.
A male gunshot victim was located at the scene and was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Detectives with the Persons Crimes Unit were dispatched to the scene are conducting an investigation.
Police said the possible suspect fed the scene in a vehicle and has not been located as of the time of this report.
Detectives are questioning people in the area.
