Early this morning police responded to a call of multiple shots fired at 5701 63rd street just before 4 a.m. When police arrived they found 25-year-old Michael Flores with a gunshot wound.

Immediately, police set up a perimeter and moved the victim to a safe location so he could be transported to the hospital for his injuries. To secure the area, part of the neighborhood was blocked off, and SWAT team members were called to the scene to help locate the suspect.

One by one, the individuals inside 5701 63rd Street were instructed to come outside. A total of seven people exited the residence, and officers cleared the home to ensure no one else was inside.

One of those individuals, 28-year-old Joshua Ryan, was arrested for an outstanding warrant. It was later determined he was the shooting suspect. Ryan has now been charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

The victim’s injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.

While police had the neighborhood secured and before the suspect was identified, we received a second call from a residence down the road. The homeowner told police he saw a male inside his house. Officers on scene rushed to the home and cleared the residence, but no one located. At this time it does not appear this incident is related to the shooting.
