The Lubbock Police Department continues to investigate an civil disturbance that lead to a shooting late Saturday morning in East Lubbock.
The incident was reported just before 11:00 a.m. in the 2500 block of East 50th Street.
According to a police report, the victim informed authorities the suspect entered the business and was causing problems and had threatened him.
He said the suspect then picked up a large rock and threatened to assault him.

The victim said he feared for his life, at which point he withdraw a firearm from his holster and fired one shot.
The bullet struck the victim in the stomach.
Lubbock Police said the victim continued to point the gun at the suspect until officers arrived on scene.
When officers arrived, the victim was given verbal commands by officers to drop the weapon. He was then placed into handcuffs.
Officers then observed the suspect leaning against a fence holding his chest with both hands. He had blood on his clothing.
Officers attempted to check the man for gunshot wounds but he became erratic and attempted to pull away from them.
While attempting to get him under control, an officer noted the suspect had a gunshot wound to his stomach and an exit wound in his lower back.
Police said the suspect continued to act erratic and would not allow the UMC EMS crew to treat him.
The report said officers had to restrain the suspect to the EMS crew could treat him.
According to the police report, while being treated the suspect told authorities he was on “meth.”
The suspect was then transported to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The LPD report said officers took custody of the weapon used in the shooting and began questioning witnesses.
The victim was released pending filing of charges.
