Pop-Up Food Park Event Being Held Saturday in Lubbock

The following is a release from Local LBK:

On Saturday, November 18th, some of the finest food trucks in the Lubbock area will set up shop in the Monterey-Wheelock neighborhood. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the shopping center at 42nd Street and Boston near Lubbock Community Theatre.

The goal of the event is to promote interest in neighborhood revitalization in central Lubbock, by increasing the public’s interest in making a permanent food truck park in the Hub City. The organizers of the Pop-Up Food Park hope this will increase demand for food trucks and further support local small business owners.

“With Local LBK and the events we put together our goal is to help Lubbock rediscover itself,” said Taylor McAlpine with Local LBK. “Our town is full of talent, stories, and unrealized potential.

Our role is to simply be a catalyst through entrepreneurship, collaboration, and storytelling to see Lubbock in a new renaissance of culture, craft, and compassion. Our goal with this event is to engage the community and show what life could be like by bringing life and activity back to a once thriving neighborhood shopping center.”

The event is open to the public. There is no cost to attend the event, and the only charge is purchasing food from the vendors.
