Prosperity Bank has 240+ locations throughout Texas and Oklahoma, including the greater Houston area. On August 25, 2017, millions of Texans were affected by Hurricane Harvey, causing one of the greatest floods and disasters this country has seen. Prosperity Bank closed approximately 80 banking centers during the worst of the storm, which displaced associates and caused damage to many of the physical locations. Not only were the associate’s workplaces affected but many of their own homes and personal possessions were destroyed.
Texans have always been a proud, resilient people and we tend to stick together and this was shown in many ways when Hurricane Harvey caused such mass destruction. Prosperity Bank Associates are not just co-workers but friends and confidants. Many Prosperity Bank associates participate in the “Associates Club” which allows them to put a portion of their paycheck into a fund to be used for an associate event each year. However, this year, the West Texas Associates Club members from the Lubbock, Permian Basin and Abilene areas have donated $16,000 to the Prosperity Bank Hurricane Relief Fund. This fund is available for those associates who were affected by Hurricane Harvey.
We hope that this donation will help make a difference in our friend’s lives and help alleviate some of their worry and anxiety. If you would like to participate in relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey, you can donate at your local Prosperity Bank. We have many years of rebuilding ahead of us and as Texans, we will work to rebuild Houston and make South Texas whole again.
