The reputation of the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business continues to rise both within the academic and business communities.
For the second straight year, the Rawls College of Business has been ranked by Bloomberg Businessweek as having one of the top Master of Business Administration schools in the U.S. in their release of the Best Business Schools for 2017. The Rawls College of Business ranked No. 76 this year.
“We are pleased to have this external recognition for the outstanding MBA program we offer in the Rawls College of Business,” said Rawls College Dean Margaret Williams. “Our continued success is a direct result of the dedication of faculty, staff and administrators to student success. We are proud of our students and alumni and the impact they have as leaders in the business world.”
According to Bloomberg, the rankings are based on data compiled from surveys of recruiters, alumni and recent graduates’ success at finding jobs and earning high starting wages after college. Bloomberg also examines how well schools connect their students to good jobs and what graduates can expect from their careers.
In determining the rankings, Bloomberg weighed the survey of the employers who hire graduates (35 percent), the alumni (30 percent) and the students (15 percent), as well as the rankings of salaries (10 percent) and job placement (10 percent).
Texas Tech’s best ranking among the categories came in terms of job placement, where the Rawls College of Business ranked No. 24.

This recognition reflects a commitment by Rawls College faculty members and college leadership to develop programs of the highest quality.”
The Rawls College offers three MBA programs – a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) MBA, an MBA for working professionals and a dual degree MBA program that allows students to pursue an MBA in conjunction with another master’s degree.
The Rawls College MBA programs provide students an in-depth understanding of the business world while preparing them for successful careers as leaders, managers, executives and innovators. Students earning an MBA from the Rawls College of Business possess enhanced analytical skills, advanced skills and knowledge in core business fields, enhanced ethics and an understanding of international and cultural environments.
