The following is a news release from the Friends of the Lubbock Public Library:
Lubbock FOL announces its Spring Book Sale to be held Friday and Saturday, May 3 – 4, 2019, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, in the basement of Mahon Library, 1306 9th St.
The sale is open to the public. Cash, checks, credit and debit cards accepted.
In addition to our vast inventory of regular, better, and best books, FOL carries a large selection of multi media items including DVD’s, CD’s, Vinyl, and books on CD. We also offer computer games and their strategy guides for many platforms, as well as computer instruction in various subjects.
Having recently discontinued the sale of audio and video cassettes, FOL has used the extra space to expand several areas of the Sale. There is a new area for Home Schoolers, an expanded selection of Teen Fiction and more DVD’s than ever.
So far in 2019, FOL has paid for leased books, audio books and e-books, children’s and adults’ reading programs, a replacement of the CD repair machine, education of library staff, the Make Kids Count program with the Lubbock Avalanche Journal, and so much more. The money you spend at our sales goes to advance the cause of literacy for the children of Lubbock, who are our future, as well as all the current patrons of our library and all of its branches.
