The following is a news release from the Lubbock Police Department:
On Thursday, March 21st, the Lubbock Police Department Major Crash Investigation Unit will be conducting a follow up scene investigation for a March 15th fatal crash at North Loop 289 and North Slide Road. Starting at 9 a.m., all eastbound lanes of the North Loop 289 access road at North Slide will be shut down. The turnaround from the westbound access road to the eastbound access road will be blocked. The North Slide turn lane to turn east onto the access road will also be blocked. This closure is expected to last approximately three hours. Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route during this time.
After investigators are finished at this scene, they will move to 13th Street and Slide for a follow up investigation of a February 24th fatal crash. All northbound lanes will be diverted east onto 13th Street. This closure is expected to start at approximately 1 p.m. and wrap up around 3 p.m.
