Samantha Carrillo Fields, Democratic nominee for State Representative of Texas House District 84, will be hosting her first town hall of the general election season.
The town hall will take place Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at the historic Landwer-Manicapelli House, located in Buddy Holly Park at 2525 Cesar Chavez Dr. in Lubbock, TX 79415.
Fields has already begun knocking doors and calling voters, but now wants to give people the opportunity to come to her with their issues in a more formal setting.
“When we go out in the community to people who have never had a campaign at their doorstep, we always make sure they feel heard. A lot of campaigns have a habit of talking at people, but ours revolves around what the voters concerns are, not rehearsed talking points. We hope this town hall will give people the assurance of an open door policy once we put real representation in Austin. ”
Light refreshments will be served and activities for children will be available so that parents and caregivers can participate freely at the town hall.
