In April, the City of Lubbock opened its first public dog park, and on May 11 the city will open a second.
Hub City Unleashed Dog Park will be at 46th and Avenue U, north of Safety City. It will offer 1.1 acres for dogs which are more than 30 pounds, and 0.31 acres for dogs that are less than 30 pounds.

HUB CITY UNLEASHED DOG PARK OPENS MAY 11
Hub City Unleashed Dog Park will be open to the public Friday, May 11, 2018. Amenities include a 1.1 acre large dog area for dogs 30 pounds and larger, a .31 acre small dog area for dogs under 30 pounds, double gates, sidewalks, restroom, benches, covered benches, shade trees and dog-friendly water fountains. Hub City Unleashed is located at 46th and Avenue U (north of Safety City) inside Clapp Park and will be open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Listed below are the rules for City of Lubbock dog parks:
Dog Park Rules
• Use park at your own risk.
• Owners are legally responsible for the actions and behavior of their dog(s) at all times.
• Dogs must be leashed while entering and exiting the dog park.
• Dog waste must be cleaned up by their owners IMMEDIATELY.
• Owners must be within the dog park and supervising their dog(s) with leash readily available.
• Dog handlers must be at least 16 years of age.
• Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.
• Dogs should be under voice control. Excessive barking is not allowed.
• All dogs must wear a collar with a current rabies tag and identification.
• Owners should fill any holes their dog(s) digs.
Prohibited:
• Human and dog food and treats
• Glass containers
• Dogs in heat
• Sick dogs
• Aggressive dogs
• Puppies under 4 months
