A pickup truck and a semi-truck collided on South Loop 289 approaching Quaker Avenue on Monday evening.
The collision occurred near the eastbound on-ramp shortly before 7:30 p.m., according to the Lubbock Police Department.
At 8:59 p.m., Emergency Medical Services said one patient was transported from the scene to a local hospital with critical injuries.
South Loop 289 was reduced to one lane after the accident.
