The following is a Shallowater ISD:

Shallowater Intermediate School will be hosting its 1st Annual Honor Walk for Diabetes on Thursday, October 4th at Todd Field in Shallowater from 12:00 pm to 2:15 pm. Each grade from Shallowater Intermediate will walk for approximately 80 minutes with the intent of raising awareness and money to find a cure for diabetes.

Students have been raising money for the cause by selling bracelets and asking for donations leading up to the walk. The school has set a goal of raising $500 with all proceeds benefiting the American Diabetes Association. Special honorees for the walk are three Shallowater Intermediate students, who have each been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes: Millie Young, Henley Gibson, and Hannah Pyle.

Raider Red and the Texas Tech Masked Rider will also be in attendance at the walk from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Shallowater Intermediate will be accepting donations through Friday, October 5th .
