Lubbock Police were called just after noon Monday for the report of a shooting. Officers responded to the 2300 block of Avenue O.
Michael Baker, 28, was shot in the chest, according to the Lubbock Police Department. He did not have life-threatening injuries.
A private vehicle transported Baker to a Lubbock hospital, according to LPD.
An image from the scene showed a bullet hole in the back of a pickup truck.
A neighbor said five gunshots were heard. The neighbor said there was a confrontation of some sort in the alley and it moved out into the street.
“At this time, it appears there was an argument between several individuals, at which point one of the individuals produced a gun and began firing, injuring Baker in the process. A nearby vehicle was also struck during the shooting. No arrests have been made at this time,” an LPD spokesperson said.
