On Thursday afternoon, the Slaton Police Department tried to arrest a man on a parole violation when the man barricaded himself in a house with two other people.
According to Slaton Police, Jose Gonzalez let the two people inside the house exit after initially keeping them inside with him. Then, he surrendered without incident shortly after that.
Slaton Police Chief Trevor Barnes said Gonzalez was arrested and transported to the Lubbock County Jail. He said he was booked on the original warrant, but other charges were presented to the Lubbock County District Attorney.
