Beginning tomorrow, Nov. 1, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will close the southbound West Loop 289 exit ramp to 34th Street. The ramp closure will allow TxDOT crews to safely make repairs to damaged pavement on the Loop frontage road. The closure is expected to continue through Friday, Nov. 3, morning.
Repairs will consist of crews milling the roadway surface, making repairs to the road base and then placing hot mix. Work is expected to take two to three days to complete.
Southbound frontage road traffic will also be reduced to one-lane in the work zone limits. Motorists are urged to slow down and watch out for workers and slow moving construction equipment when entering the work area. Southbound Loop 289 motorists needing to access 34th Street should use the 19th Street exit to connect with 34th.
