The following is a release from Lubbock Habitat for Humanity:
Lubbock State Farm Insurance Agents will be partnering with Habitat for Humanity Lubbock Saturday, December 9 to work on a Habitat home located at 2405 Avenue L. The agents will start work at 9:00 am and finish at noon.
“Habitat for Humanity and State Farm share a common purpose in helping build safer, stronger communities,” said Nelda Jett, State Farm Agent and Lubbock Habitat board member,” and together, we can’t wait to get started in helping another family realize their dreams from the ground up.”
“Habitat Lubbock is excited that State Farm Insurance is partnering with us to continue the work on this soon to be completed home. It is because of businesses such as State Farm Insurance that Habitat Lubbock is able to build affordable housing. This home was started in August as the “Raider Welcome Week House” and has several individuals and groups work on the home,” stated Marie Hanza, Executive Director of Habitat Lubbock.
Habitat Lubbock works with low to moderate income individuals on the construction and purchase of affordable housing. Individuals who are interested in learning how they may qualify to become part of the Habitat Lubbock program, should call 806-763-4663. Areas that Habitat Lubbock considers when qualifying individuals for the program are need, the ability to pay a program, and willingness to partner. The next open application period for the program will be in late January thru February.
