The City of Sudan released a statement concerning an officer-involved shooting which happened Friday evening. The suspect’s injuries were not described as life-threatening.

The statement is as follows: 

On June 22, 2018, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a report was received of shots being fired. Sudan police officers responded to investigate. The officers located the suspect. That encounter resulted in an officer shooting the suspect, who sustained non-life threatening injuries. This incident is being investigated by an outside agency, the Texas Rangers. The officer has been placed on administrative leave. This is an active investigation. Further information may be released as it is confirmed and appropriate for the City to comment upon.
