Texas Tech Police said a “non-student” was arrested Monday afternoon in the 1600 block of Flint Avenue for indecent exposure, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and possession of marijuana.

The location is on the campus of Texas Tech.

Jonathon Phillip Lopez, 22, of Lubbock was held Wednesday in the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds totaling more than $20,000.

The Texas Tech police report referenced a Lubbock Police Department case number.  In the LPD case, someone called police Monday in the 2700 block of 22nd Street.

The LPD police report said a man exposed his penis in public and was touching himself inappropriately.

Before Lopez was arrested, Lubbock residents complained on the Nextdoor app that there were “multiple complaints” about a man exposing himself.

Police have not confirmed that the people complaining on the Nextdoor app were referencing Lopez, but the times and locations seemed to match up with Lopez’s arrest.

The Texas Tech Police report said, “The non-student was issued a criminal trespass warning from all Texas Tech University property.”
